How We Price — Not What We Charge

Every Dollar in Your Course Investment Has a Name

We don't bundle services into opaque packages. We don't hide costs behind tier labels. At Course Velocity Online, each element of your learning experience — from curriculum architecture to assessment design, from instructor access to platform hosting — carries its own transparent cost. You assemble what you need. You see where every cent goes. This page exists to explain how we arrive at a price, not to sell you one.

Cost Component Matrix

What Makes Up Your Course Price

Each row below represents an independent cost layer. Your quote is the sum of only the layers you select. Nothing is mandatory beyond the first two.

Component What It Covers Cost Driver Typical Range
Curriculum Design Syllabus architecture, learning objectives mapping, module sequencing, prerequisite analysis Hours of instructional design labour $180 – $420 per module
Platform Access LMS hosting, student dashboard, progress tracking, mobile delivery Student count × duration $12 – $28 per learner/month
Instructor Sessions Live workshops, Q&A calls, one-on-one mentoring blocks Session length × instructor tier $95 – $260 per hour
Assessment Engine Quiz banks, assignment rubrics, automated grading, certification logic Complexity of assessment types $220 – $650 per course
Content Production Video recording, editing, slide design, downloadable resources Minutes of finished content $340 – $900 per finished hour
Ongoing Support Forum moderation, email support, content updates, analytics reports Support tier × months $75 – $190 per month

Learner insight: "I only needed curriculum design and platform access for my team of 15. The quote was $3,240 — no surprises, no upsells, no 'recommended add-ons' pushed on me." — R. Nakamura, Operations Lead

The Pricing Philosophy

We Separated Price from Persuasion

Most course providers design pricing to nudge you toward their most profitable option. The "recommended" package. The "best value" tier. We stripped all of that out. Our pricing is a transparent formula: labour hours + platform costs + materials + your chosen extras = your price.

There is no psychological anchoring. No decoy option. No artificial urgency. The price is the price because the work is the work.

Case: Corporate Onboarding

A logistics firm needed a 5-module compliance course for 120 staff. They already had slide content. We quoted: Syllabus Architecture ($1,400) + Platform Access 3 months ($3,360) + Assessment Engine ($480). Total: $5,240.

"No content production cost because we had the materials. That saved us thousands." — D. Whitfield, HR Director

Case: Solo Educator Launch

A freelance nutritionist wanted to launch her first online course. Full build: Needs Audit (waived) + Syllabus ($840) + Content Production ($2,700) + Platform 6 months ($504) + Assessment ($340). Total: $4,384.

"I knew exactly what each piece cost. When I wanted to cut scope, they just removed those line items." — K. Osei, Nutritionist

Decision Board

Is This Pricing Model Right for You?

✦ This model works well if you:
  • Want to control exactly what you pay for
  • Already have some course materials ready
  • Need to justify spend to a finance team
  • Prefer to start small and scale later
  • Value transparency over convenience
✧ Consider alternatives if you:
  • Want a single fixed price with no decisions
  • Prefer an all-inclusive "done for you" experience
  • Don't want to evaluate individual components
  • Need a course live within 48 hours

We're honest about fit. If a bundled provider suits your situation better, we'll say so. Our model rewards people who want clarity, not people who want to avoid thinking about costs.

Frequently Raised Concerns

Pricing Questions We Hear Often

Can the price change after I get a quote?
Only if you change scope. Your quote is locked to the components listed. If you add a component later, we price that addition separately. We never retroactively increase a quoted line item.
Why don't you just offer packages like everyone else?
Packages force you to pay for things you don't need. A team with existing video content shouldn't pay for content production. A solo educator who doesn't need assessment shouldn't subsidise quiz engines. Our model respects that every client's situation is different.
Is there a minimum spend?
The smallest engagement we take on is a single-module curriculum design, which starts around $180. There's no artificial minimum — if you need one component, you can buy one component.
How do I get a quote?
Contact us with a description of what you need. We'll send back an itemised breakdown within two business days. No sales call required unless you want one.
Do you offer payment plans?
For engagements over $2,000, we split payment across milestones: 40% at project start, 30% at content delivery, 30% at launch. No interest, no fees.
The Pricing Guarantee

If your final invoice exceeds your approved quote by even one dollar — for reasons not caused by a scope change you requested — we credit the difference plus 15%. We've issued exactly two such credits in our operating history. We intend to keep that number low.

Working Principles

What Governs How We Operate

Radical Itemisation

Every quote is a spreadsheet, not a paragraph. You see labour hours, unit costs, and totals for each component independently.

Scope Sovereignty

You decide what's in scope. We never recommend adding components you haven't asked about. If we think something is missing, we note it — but the decision is yours.

No Recurring Lock-in

Platform access and support are month-to-month. Cancel anytime. Your course content and data are exported to you within 5 business days of cancellation.
